Lobster Bay Petroglyphs

The Lobster Bay Petroglyphs are prehistoric rock carvings in Hong Kong, located at Lobster Bay on the Clear Water Bay Peninsula in Sai Kung District, New Territories. They have been designated as a declared monument of Hong Kong.

The Lobster Bay Petroglyphs were discovered in 1978 by a group of hikers. The carvings are found on an east-facing rock surface, featuring faint geometric patterns, some of which depict birds, animals, and even eye-like shapes. Due to prolonged weathering, the patterns have become extremely faint. However, some scholars believe these patterns may be entirely the result of natural erosion, and the debate remains unresolved.
