Wanquanquan Tourist Resort is situated under an unnamed peak to the south of Qitai Farm, originating from the Harasayi Valley. Numerous springs converge into a single clear stream that flows year-round, hence the name "Wanquanquan" (Ten Thousand Springs). This area is one of the best natural pastures in the eastern Tianshan Mountains of Northern Xinjiang, blessed with abundant natural precipitation. The shady slopes of the mountain ridges are lined with towering pine trees, while the sunny slopes are covered with lush pasture. The air is fresh and the scenery delightful. In the distance, snow-capped mountains stretch endlessly, majestic and grand, while nearby, cloud-kissed peaks rise and fall, forming an expansive... Each year from June to September, various wildflowers blanket the hillsides, not only adding vibrant splashes of color to the grasslands but also producing pure, uniquely flavored, and nutrient-rich wildflower honey. The area is also a paradise for bees collecting pollen—known for its anti-fatigue, anti-aging, cardiovascular, and liver-protective benefits.
...a rich source of unique-flavored, nutrient-packed, pure natural green food. The flowers also provide a flying paradise for bees harvesting...
The Tianshan spruce forests feature straight, sturdy trunks that form layered, pagoda-like groves. Beneath the shade of the trees grow birch and wild apricot among other species; the forest floor is carpeted with wild grass and dotted with clusters of wild mushrooms. The woods are also home to rare animals and birds such as golden eagles, woodpeckers, red deer, and snowcocks. In summer, the area boasts beautiful mountains and clear waters, offering a cool and pleasant retreat—an ideal summer getaway. The sheep raised here graze on medicinal herbs and drink mineral water, resulting in tender, flavorful meat. Stewed lamb is an essential dish when hosting guests in Qitai.
The resort features attractions such as the Immortal Water-Splashing Rock, Lovers’ River, small waterfalls, the Flying Rock, and the Couple Trees. Different elevations showcase varied vegetation, including the precious snow lotus herb, various trees, shrubs, meadows, and artificially planted barley that extends from under the pine trees down to the small mountain villages at the foothills. Herds of cattle and sheep graze on the slopes, while people work the fields—humanity and nature coexisting harmoniously, like a vast landscape painting embedded in the earth.
Wanquan Mountain Tourist Village was initially constructed in 2000 and completed in 2002. With a planned investment of 8 million yuan, 3 million yuan had been invested by completion. After two years of trial operation, it officially opened in August 2004, and the “Wanquanquan” trademark was registered. In January 2005, it obtained the “Tourism Operation Permit” issued by the Corps Tourism Bureau, and in November of the same year, it passed the Corps Tourism Bureau’s evaluation and was rated as a national AAA-level scenic area. The resort includes a multi-functional comprehensive building in European architectural style, 17 Mongolian yurts with ethnic flair, and six color-steel small villas, accommodating up to 500 tourists for food and lodging. Facilities such as water, electricity, heating, and communication are fully equipped. All facilities in the resort are designed in a modern style, with several typical Kazakh yurts scattered around, allowing visitors to experience Kazakh customs. During festive occasions, it also serves as a venue for Kazakh herders to hold traditional recreational activities such as horse racing, “bride chasing,” wrestling, and Akyn singing performances. The construction of the resort’s third-tier highway access project provides convenience for tourists.
Wanquanquan Tourist Resort is surrounded by mountains on the east, south, and west, with... densely distributed. The northern area features magnificent crops, and different seasons offer distinct landscapes: in spring, wildflowers blanket the ground, barley sprouts are tender and green, brimming with the vitality of spring; in summer, barley spikes sway in the wind, forming rolling waves; in autumn, golden barley fields are set against emerald-green grass, offering a unique charm, with the panoramic view of nature from the mountaintop being breathtaking; in winter, red-roofed color-steel houses are nestled in the snow, creating a fairytale-like scene that captivates the imagination.
This is an excellent destination for summer retreats, sightseeing, reconnecting with nature, enjoying pastoral scenery, leisure and entertainment, and learning and training.
