Slide into 2022 together — five major ski resorts jointly launch the 2022 Alliance Ski Pass

      On November 18, 2019, the press conference for “Slide into 2022” and the 2022 Alliance Ski Pass was grandly held at the Eclat Hotel in Parkview Green FangCaoDi, Beijing, officially inaugurating China’s first ski resort alliance and unveiling the 2022 Alliance Ski Pass jointly launched by five major ski resorts. Li Tie, Chief Economist of the China Center for Urban Development and Reform; Li Xiaoming, Chairman of the Beijing Ski Association; representatives from Wanlong Resort, Beidahu Ski Resort, Aoshan Ski Resort, Silk Road International Ski Resort, and Yabuli Sunshine Ski Resort, along with media representatives and skiing enthusiasts from across the country, attended the event.

      China’s first ski resort alliance promotes the implementation of the “300 Million People on Snow” strategy

      Since China successfully bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics in 2015, the country’s skiing industry has entered a phase of rapid development. In recent years, indoor and outdoor ski resorts have sprung up across the nation, gradually forming four major skiing regions: Chongli, North China, Xinjiang, and Northeast China.

        For the 2019–20 ski season, China’s North China region’s Wanlong Resort, Northeast China’s Beidahu Ski Resort and Yabuli Sunshine Ski Resort, Northwest China’s Xinjiang Silk Road International Ski Resort, and Shaanxi’s Aoshan Ski Resort established China’s first ski resort alliance. In response to President Xi Jinping’s call, they actively practiced the “300 Million People on Snow” initiative and supported Bank of China’s “30 Million Families on Snow” campaign, helping China’s skiing industry catch up to international standards. By lowering the barriers to entry for snow sports, they aim to increase public interest and opportunities to ski while providing more comprehensive services. With top-quality powder snow conditions and enhanced, customer-oriented services, they cater to the diverse needs of different customers.

      Li Tie, Chief Economist of the China Center for Urban Development and Reform, said: “In recent years, skiing has not only gained increasing popularity among Chinese consumers but has also gradually become one of their travel and vacation choices. The five ski resorts have fully leveraged their own strengths, adhered to the principles of co-construction, sharing, openness, and collaboration, and joined forces to establish a ski resort alliance. This move lowers the barrier for the public to participate in snow sports and meets the market demands of China’s skiing consumer base.”

        From east to west, from north to south — slide into 2022 together

        The “2022 Alliance Ski Pass,” meticulously created by these five major ski resorts, allows Chinese consumers to access five top-tier ski resorts across three major skiing regions of China for just 2022 yuan. Skiers can enjoy 101 diverse ski runs and 6.48 million square meters of premium snowy terrain, all integrated with a variety of travel experiences, star-rated themed hotels, and distinctive high-quality services. With the creative concept of skiing across China and in step with the Olympic Winter Games, this pass offers skiing enthusiasts an unprecedented high-quality skiing experience.

        As a pioneer and benchmark in China’s skiing industry and one of the initiators of the China Ski Resort Alliance, Luo Li, Chairman of Wanlong Resort, expressed high hopes for the launch of the 2022 Alliance Ski Pass: “This small card not only encapsulates the unique snow resources of five top-tier ski resorts, but also provides more consumers the opportunity to participate in and fall in love with skiing, laying a strong foundation of public support for the development of the snow sports industry.”

        Meanwhile, the issuance of the 2022 Ski Pass has received strong support from Bank of China. Beyond providing support in product design and technical development, Bank of China will also serve as one of the official sales channels for the 2022 Alliance Ski Pass, bringing its benefits and privileges to households across the country.

        Sports are vital to national health and the realization of a well-off society in all respects. Improving people’s health and quality of life is the fundamental goal of developing sports.
