Bexiha Grottoes

The Bexiha Grottoes are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Bexiha Grottoes are located in Murutuke Village, Shengjin Township, Turpan City. The caves are distributed along a small ravine on the northern slope of the Flaming Mountains, covering an area of about 1,000 square meters. There are currently 10 surviving caves, with caves 1 to 6 facing south. The site dates back to the Tang to Yuan dynasties (Kingdom of Qocho, 860–1284). In 1999, it was designated as an Autonomous Region-level Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. In 2013, it was listed as part of the seventh group of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units by the State Council.
