Ningyuan Garden

Guide: Ningyuan Garden, the first small-scale garden in Ningxia built primarily with Qing Dynasty-style antique architecture, was completed during the National Day holiday in 1987. Located on the south side of Jiefang East Street in Yinchuan City, the garden welcomes visitors into the bonsai area as they enter from the west gate. The main section consists of the Xingqing Hall, Qinming Pavilion, steles, corridors, and a pond. Xingqing Hall is the tallest and most prominent hall in the garden. The murals inside the hall, titled “The Turbulent Times of the Western Xia,” artistically depict the politics, economy, culture, military affairs, and local customs of the Western Xia Kingdom during China’s historical period.

In the square pool in front of Xingqing Hall stands a white marble sculpture titled “Nezha Conquers the Sea.” To the left of Xingqing Hall is the Qinming Pavilion, a rolled-roof style antique building, while to the right lies a winding stele corridor named “Hanmo,” where the four corners are connected by a double-eaved pavilion and a hexagonal pavilion. The corridor walls are inscribed with calligraphy works by Mao Zedong, [name omitted], and calligraphers from within and outside the region. To the north of the eastern area is a large rockery complex, complete with a pond, vine trellises, flower beds, and spaces for visitors to relax and stroll.

Transportation: The attraction is located between the Drum Tower and Jade Emperor Pavilion streets, close to the southern entrance of the Drum Tower Pedestrian Street. You can take city bus routes 1 or 11 to get there.
