Introduction Located along the Yellow River from Huinong District's Nongyuan Town to Yinhe Village in Lihexiang. From a distance, the lush and seemingly endless red willow forest tightly encircles the Yellow River. The waters of the Yellow River, the red willow forest, green grasslands, and dense tamarisk woods adorn the tourist area in vibrant hues, offering visitors a refreshing and boundlessly uplifting experience.

Over 50,000 acres of red willow forest are sandwiched between the Yellow River and Wupai Gully within a narrow strip of about 5 kilometers, forming a natural "lake island." By taking a small boat across the approximately 15-meter-wide Wupai Gully to enter the red willow area, you’ll find yourself surrounded by dense red willows that make you feel as though you've entered an endless wilderness. The green pathways in the forest extend toward the heart of the red willow garden and its surrounding areas, providing a delightful atmosphere filled with freshness and mystery. In the central area of the Red Willow Garden, there are two spacious grasslands that offer ideal spaces for leisure and recreation.

The red willow is a unique wild plant of northwest China, known for its alkali and drought resistance. It has a well-developed root system and strong regenerative capabilities—within just a few years, a single red willow can propagate into an entire forest. Its branches are excellent material for crafting wicker baskets and other artisanal goods. Covering a vast area and featuring a mix of forest and grassland, the Yellow River Red Willow Garden provides an ideal habitat for various wild animals to thrive and reproduce. Walking along the garden’s narrow paths, you’ll often spot bounding hares foraging for food and the ceaselessly calling “guagua chicken” (a type of pheasant). Rare animals such as eagles, waterfowl, ducks, red-necked birds, and swans also inhabit this expansive 10,000-acre red willow park. During holidays, tourists from the surrounding areas and even Wuhai in Inner Mongolia flock here in great numbers.
