Qinqi Park

Introduction Qinqi is one of the irrigation canals branching off from the Yellow River. It was excavated during the Qin Dynasty, flows through Wuzhong, and has played an active role in irrigating this land. A poem testifies to this: “A natural barrier split, its flow diverted into a canal; one region enjoys the bounty of fertile soil. Fish swim in the shallow blue under gentle east winds; flowers bloom crimson after the rain’s last drops. Thousands of hectares of fertile fields thrive in abundance; tens of thousands of households live in peace and comfort……”. In 1987, the Wuzhong municipal government transformed the 10-kilometer stretch of Qinqi that runs through the city into Qinqi Park.

Lush trees and vibrant greenery line both banks, teeming with birds and blooming flowers, their fragrance wafting far and wide. Like a jade ribbon inlaid amidst the bustling urban landscape, the park brings a touch of tranquility and vitality to the city. Within the park, pavilions, corridors, and winding paths lead to secluded spots, adorned with carved beams and painted rafters arranged in delightful disorder. The park is equipped with a full range of fitness facilities, making it an ideal place for residents to exercise in the morning, enjoy leisurely strolls, or relax and unwind.
