Wu Zhong City Museum is a comprehensive state-owned museum integrating functions such as cultural relic collection, public education, conservation research, and exhibition services. It was completed in September 2013, covering an area of 133 mu with a total construction area of 18,158 square meters. The museum is a full-section public institution under the Wu Zhong Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, News Publishing, and Radio & Television, with an approved staffing of 10 personnel. It has four internal departments: the Office, the Business Department, the Security Department, and the Finance Office. The main exhibitions include nine exhibition halls: Tracing Wu Zhong’s Origins, Red Wu Zhong, Drug Prevention Warning Education, and Temporary Exhibitions. The museum currently houses 1,285 cultural relic items (sets), including 1 first-grade relic item, 10 second-grade relic items (sets), and 57 third-grade relic items (sets). In 2013, it was designated as a Social Science Popularization Education Base by the Autonomous Region Social Science Federation. In 2014, it was recognized by the Autonomous Region Propaganda Department as a Ningxia Party History Publicity and Education Base, a Patriotic Education Base, an Ideological and Political Education Practice Teaching Base, a Learn-from-Lei Feng Volunteer Service Base, and a Civilized Tourism Volunteer Service Station. In 2015, it was rated as a National AAA-level Tourist Attraction by the National Tourism Administration.

Wu Zhong City Museum uses artifacts to substantiate history, taking historical evolution as the narrative thread and artifact display as the main focus. It is supplemented by scene reconstructions, animations, photographs, and other auxiliary exhibits to create a rich historical and cultural atmosphere from multiple perspectives. Guided by the principle of presenting tangible evidence alongside historical facts, the overall presentation is well-balanced in detail, dynamic in rhythm, and vividly, truthfully, and intuitively recreates the history of Wu Zhong. It comprehensively showcases the profound regional historical culture of Wu Zhong and serves as an important platform for promoting patriotism and social sciences.
