Xining Huangshui National Wetland Park

Xining Huangshui National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Qinghai Xining Huangshui National Wetland Park was established in December 2013 as a national-level wetland park approved by the State Forestry Administration and the People's Government of Xining City.

The construction site of Qinghai Xining Huangshui National Wetland Park is located within the urban area of Xining along the Huangshui River section, namely the Huangshui River and its first-level tributary, the Beichuan River. This includes a 39.1-kilometer stretch of the Huangshui River flowing through the urban area, a 10.8-kilometer stretch of the Beichuan River within the city, with a total planned area of 508.70 hectares.

Based on the resource characteristics of the wetland park and the development needs of Xining City, and following the vision to build “a clear Huangshui River entering the city, a platform for showcasing wetland ecological culture and regional culture, and an ecological paradise where humans and nature coexist harmoniously,” the project aims to create a model of harmony between humans and nature. It will develop a national wetland park that integrates multiple functions such as ecological conservation, science education, cultural display, and sightseeing tourism.

The construction of Qinghai Xining Huangshui National Wetland Park will not only better protect and restore the wetland ecosystems of the Huangshui River and Beichuan River basins in Xining, but also the park’s unique ecological landscape and natural experience will enhance Xining’s environmental quality as a tourist city on the northwestern plateau. This will greatly advance the development of Xining into an entrepreneurial city with a superior investment environment and a livable city with sound ecology within the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region.
