The CNN report begins by citingan article from ETtoday EBC News Cloud, mentioning how years ago Taipei applied to the United Nations to be recognized as the “Gourmet Culture Capital,” sparking a heated debate among netizens from the north and south of the island. Although Taipei is a popular tourist destination, many of its street foods actually originated in the historic city of Tainan.
