Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Wildlife Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a science education base.

Xining Wildlife Park, also known as Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Wildlife Park, is the only large-scale comprehensive wildlife park on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the highest-altitude one of its kind. It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot and a national science education base that integrates wildlife viewing, conservation, scientific research, breeding, and public education.

Xining Wildlife Park covers an area of over 5,000 acres, with an animal exhibition area of 1,500 acres. The main exhibition zones include the Predator Free-Range Area, Herbivore Free-Range Area, Bird Garden, Primate House, Small Feline House, and Little Zoo. There are also animal exhibition venues such as the Waterfowl Lake, Large Rare Animal House, Leopard House, Parrot House, Zebra House, and Oceanarium. In total, the park exhibits over 180 species and more than 3,000 animals. In addition to highland-specialty animals such as snow leopards, black-necked cranes, Przewalski's gazelles, Pallas's cats, bearded vultures, white-lipped deer, wild yaks, and wild camels, the park also displays exotic species like hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, sea lions, Siberian tigers, African lions, and zebras. Xining Wildlife Park is home to the country’s largest artificially bred population of snow leopards, the largest artificially bred population of black-necked cranes, and the world’s only artificially bred population of Przewalski's gazelles.

Xining Wildlife Park is an urban wildlife park with significant terrain variations, featuring numerous ridges, gullies, hills, and gentle slopes. The animal enclosures are designed according to the natural landscape, offering large exhibition areas and ample space for the animals. Moreover, the park does not conduct domesticated animal performances, fully respecting the wild nature of its residents. To accommodate the park’s large area and rugged terrain and to enrich visitors' experiences, in 2012 the park introduced sightseeing vehicles such as a park train, and added recreational facilities including a Family Fun Park and a 5D cinema.

As a national science education base, Xining Wildlife Park has built a science exhibition hall covering over 1,800 square meters, displaying more than 200 animal specimens including snow leopards, brown bears, and Tibetan antelopes. Using sound, light, and electricity, the park introduces visitors to the geological features, biological evolution, distinctive flora and fauna of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and other educational content. It also features over 20 interactive teaching facilities.

Xining Wildlife Park hosts annual events such as the Tibetan Mastiff Culture Exhibition, Mid-Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition, Kite Exhibition, and Chinese Zodiac Culture Exhibition. It also organizes local cultural activities during holidays, including the Huangyuan Leather Embroidery Exhibition and Huangyuan Lantern Exhibition.

Ticket Notes: Children under 1.2m, active-duty military personnel, seniors over 65, and people with disabilities enter free of charge.

Parking Information: A tourist vehicle parking lot is located outside the park, covering an area of about 3,000㎡ and accommodating nearly 200 vehicles, with clear signage at the entrance.

Visitor Service Center: The park’s Visitor Service Center is located on the east side of the main entrance. It currently offers services such as visitor consultation, complaints, lost and found, postal services, luggage storage, sale of travel souvenirs, pet check-in, guided tours, umbrella rental, drinking water, and rest areas.
