The Qinghai Science and Technology Museum is a base for science popularization education.

The Qinghai Science and Technology Museum is a public welfare institution directly under the Qinghai Provincial Association for Science and Technology. It focuses on science and technology exhibition and education as its core, supplemented by science and technology practice activities and training. It integrates science and technology museums, exhibitions and experiments, research and exploration, as well as training and education. By dynamically showcasing scientific and technological achievements across various disciplines through exhibitions, lectures, and training, it serves as an educational platform that presents modern scientific and technological civilization to the public.

The Qinghai Science and Technology Museum was established in 1984 and is currently the largest science popularization venue in the province. In recent years, keeping pace with the implementation of the Scientific Outlook on Development and riding the wave of the release of the "Outline of the National Action Plan for Improving Scientific Literacy," the museum has relied on organizing diverse and rich science popularization activities. It has boldly explored and continuously innovated, making due contributions to advancing the cause of science popularization in the province. In 2006, with the approval of the Provincial Compiling Committee Office, the museum was additionally designated as the Qinghai Youth Science and Technology Center, responsible for organizing and managing youth science and technology activities in Qinghai. We have further leveraged the advantage of having two titles under one team, focusing on minors as the primary audience for science popularization efforts, and closely integrating science education with the moral development of young people, playing an irreplaceable role in improving their ideological and ethical standards.

It has been successively named by relevant national departments as a "National Youth Science and Technology Education Base," "National Science Popularization Education Base," "National Youth Off-Campus Activity Demonstration Base," "Little Citizens' Moral Development Practice Base," and "Song Qingling Children's Science and Technology Invention Demonstration Base." It has also been designated by relevant Qinghai provincial departments as the "Qinghai Science Popularization Education Base" and "Qinghai Little Citizens' Ideological and Ethical Development Base."

The Qinghai Science and Technology Museum always prioritizes social benefits, aiming to popularize scientific knowledge among the public, promote the spirit of science, and disseminate scientific ideas and methods. It serves to improve the scientific and cultural literacy of the general public and advance the healthy development of science popularization in the province.
