Nanshan Mountain

Nanshan Mountain is located 15 kilometers south of Huangzhong County and has long been known as the “Hermit’s Abode of Leisure and Immortals, the Tranquil Home of Taoist Priests.” The Taoist temple was first built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. It is a renowned mountain and a sacred site of Taoism in Qinghai Province, honored as the “Fourth Supreme Yuanji Cave Heaven in the Taoist Canon.” In the early Qing Dynasty, monks from Ta’er Monastery led worshippers up the mountain to offer incense and added Buddhist statues, transforming it into a sacred place where Buddhism and Taoism coexist. The area features lush, layered mountains, murmuring streams, a serene and elegant atmosphere, and picturesque scenery. The Taoist temple halls, cave dwellings, pavilions, towers, and celestial legends all contribute to the mysterious and enchanting allure of Nanshan Mountain.
