Fenyuan is located in the northern part of Taichung City and serves as the development hub of the Central Mountain Line area in Taichung. In the early days, because the Taiwan Railways' Taichung County and Dongshi lines intersected here, it became a distribution center for agriculture and forestry, leading to a bustling local economy. The starting point of the Houfeng Bicycle Trail is located beneath the elevated section of National Freeway No. 4 in Fenyuan District, and it ends at Houli Horse Ranch. It passes through the former Mountain Line’s “No. 9 Tunnel” and crosses the Hualiang Steel Bridge, spanning a total length of 4.5 kilometers. The bike path also connects with the Dongfeng Green Bicycle Corridor, forming an 18-kilometer-long cycling trail with a unique nostalgic charm.

Gonglaoping Sightseeing Orchard and Recreation Center is the first sightseeing orchard established in the country. Founded in 1977, the owner, Mr. Lu Changding, aimed to provide a more natural leisure space. He specially designed the farm to offer a variety of activities including leisure vacations, fruit picking with family, fresh tastings, social gatherings, corporate training, and rural ecology experiences.

The Fenyuan Miaodong Revival Business District, also known as Miaodong Snack Street, Miaodong Night Market, or Miaodong Commercial Area, is located next to Ciji Temple in Fenyuan District, Taichung City. The night market has a long history and is a popular gathering spot for many students. The nearby Revival Road Business District, which also includes Sanmin Road, Revival Road, and Heping Street, roughly surrounds the Fenyuan Mazu Temple, making it a shopping destination for residents of the Mountain Line area.

The soft-bottomed Ruanpi Zi Creek flows through it, making it Fenyuan’s largest riverside park. As one of the venues for the 2018 World Flora Exposition, even after the exhibition ended, the waterfront still blooms with swaying flowers and fragrant blossoms.
