Qunjia National Forest Park is a national-level forest park.

The forest park features a typical high-mountain canyon landform, with majestic peaks and a landscape where grandeur, wonder, danger, and serenity blend seamlessly. Bizarre rock formations and steep cliffs create a complex and varied plateau landscape. Ascending to the mountaintop and looking into the distance, you’ll see layers of undulating mountains, numerous towering peaks, and uniquely shaped rugged rocks. White clouds drift above the green meadows and pristine forests, making Qunjia National Forest Park look like a beautiful and colorful emerald embedded among the mountains.

The steep and deep canyons vary in width, with rivers forming a scene of alternating shoals and valleys, narrow and wide stretches. Venturing deep into the canyons, the mountains are layered and the forests block out the sky, with water currents that alternate between calm and rapid. Beneath the cliffs is a natural stone cave where dripping water forms icicles that remain frozen year-round. Outside the cave, flowers bloom and wild fruits abound, offering a microcosm of spring, summer, autumn, and winter within a small space.

Qunjia River is the largest river in the park, originating from the southern slope of the Laji Mountain. It flows 10.5 kilometers within the park before directly joining the Yellow River. Heixia River flows down through a tunnel in the Heixia Ridge at an altitude of 3,830 meters and merges into the Qunjia River. The river winds along the western mountainside, with calm sections forming clear pools and rapid sections rushing violently. The Heixia Waterfall cascades down like a white ribbon, its thunderous roar echoing through the valley.

Climbing to the high peaks and looking into the distance, beyond the horizon, the Yellow River resembles a silver python winding through the towering mountains. The Liujiaxia Reservoir presents a serene high-mountain lake scene with red cliffs, clear waves, and blue waters stretching to the sky.

The park is located in Qunjia Tibetan Township, a main settlement area of the Tibetan people, preserving long-standing and simple Tibetan traditions in production, daily life, and culture. Deep in the forest lies the Sandanleng Temple, a sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism. Established in 1644, the temple features a blend of Tibetan and Han architectural styles and serves as a tranquil and elegant place for spiritual practice. The Sixth Dalai Lama, the Ninth Panchen Lama, and the Tenth Panchen Lama have all held grand ceremonies here.
