The Qīngjìnghuàchéng Pagoda
The Qīngjìnghuàchéng Pagoda is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
The Qīngjìnghuàchéng Pagoda is located on Huangsi Street, Anwai, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It was built in the ninth year of the Shunzhi reign (1652). In the forty-seventh year of the Qianlong reign (1782), to commemorate the Sixth Panchen Lama who passed away here, a memorial stupa was erected on the west side of the West Yellow Temple and named the “Qīngjìnghuàchéng Pagoda.”
The Qīngjìnghuàchéng Pagoda courtyard faces south and has a rectangular layout oriented north to south, covering a construction area of over 900 square meters. The pagoda is modeled after the style of the Buddha Gayā Stupa in India and is built from white marble. The central main pagoda stands 16 meters tall and is built upon a base over three meters high. The corners of the pagoda feature statues of powerful celestial beings. Around the main pagoda are four smaller towers, each about seven meters high, forming a diamond throne-style pagoda complex with the main tower.
The Qīngjìnghuàchéng Pagoda serves as a historical testament to cultural exchange and friendly interaction among Tibetan, Han, and other ethnic groups, holding significant historical value. (National Cultural Heritage Administration)
