Longge Monastery

Longge Monastery is situated on the shady side of Longge Valley in Baiyu Township, southwest of the county seat, 175 kilometers from the county town and 25 kilometers from the township government. Below the monastery lies the Nyenbo Yurtse Mountain Range, to its right is the renowned Wencuo Lake Scenic Area in southern Qinghai, and 25 kilometers to its left and southwest is the Baiyu Monastery, the largest Nyingma sect monastery in the Golog region, making it an area with exceptional tourism potential. The monastery follows the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. It was built in the 34th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty and was officially approved for reopening in 1982.
