Golden and Silver Beach Grassland

Guide Golden and Silver Beach Grassland is located in Haiyan County, Qinghai Province. To its west, Tongbao Mountain borders Qinghai Lake, while to the northeast it is surrounded by towering mountains. To the south, it adjoins Sanjiaocheng in Haiyan County (Sanjiaocheng is the site of the ancient Xihai Commandery, built during the reign of Wang Mang in the Western Han Dynasty). Spanning an area of 1,100 square kilometers, this vast grassland is home to the Mapi River and the Halijin River, making it the renowned Golden and Silver Beach Grassland of Qinghai. Introduction: Tibetan people have lived on this land for generations. With over 300,000 head of cattle and sheep grazing here, it is a typical pastoral area. The golden season of Golden and Silver Beach is from July to September, when flowers bloom and birds fly freely—especially the melodious and enchanting songs of the larks.

It is so beautiful here that it can take your breath away; it is so high that the blue sky and white clouds seem within reach. This is a vast grassland covered in lush green. Flocks of sheep drift like floating clouds, and brown-and-black yaks wander sparsely among the grass and wildflowers. From time to time, Tibetans dressed in traditional attire ride horses leisurely across the grassland. In the distance, rolling mountains rise, occasionally graced by the silhouette of an eagle soaring by, while Mongolian yurts dot the landscape like lotus flowers in the depths of the white clouds.
