Tianshui Museum

Tianshui Museum is located at No. 110 Fuxi Road, Qinzhou District, Tianshui City. Established in 1979 and under the administration of the Tianshui Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication, it is a national second-grade museum. The museum covers an area of 15,000 square meters, with a building area of 3,600 square meters and an exhibition area of 2,400 square meters. It houses a collection of 30,492 cultural relics, including 985 classified as precious. The collection is especially noted for its Neolithic painted pottery, Shang and Zhou dynasty bronzes, and ceramics from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The museum features eight permanent exhibitions: “Approaching Tianshui – Historical Relics Exhibition of Tianshui Museum,” “Cultural Tianshui – Basic Historical Relics Exhibition of Tianshui Museum,” “Exquisite Pottery Art – Exhibition of Colored Pottery in the Museum Collection,” “Splendid Bronze Ware – Exhibition of Bronze Artifacts in the Museum Collection,” “Casting Beauty in Metal – Exhibition of Porcelain in the Museum Collection,” “Land of Talent – Introduction to Historic Figures of Tianshui,” “Calligraphy Masterpieces – Exhibition of Calligraphy by Historic Figures of Tianshui,” and “Silk Road Treasures – Special Exhibition of Gilded and Painted Stone Couches from the Sui and Tang Dynasties.” The museum receives approximately 620,000 visitors annually.

Transportation

Take bus routes 1, 13, or 14 to Chengqu Traffic Police Brigade Station; routes 21 or 22 to Fuxi Temple Station; outer ring route 18 to Qinzhou District Hospital Station; or route 24 to Qinghua Factory Station. Alternatively, walk 20 minutes west along the street south of Tianshui Central Square, or take a taxi within the city for about 10 yuan.
