Lian Tengxiao’s Former Residence

Lian Tengxiao’s Former Residence is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Gansu Province.

Lian Tengxiao’s Former Residence is located on Lianjia Lane, Beiguan, Qincheng District, Tianshui City. Originally covering an area of over 1,500 square meters, it now spans approximately 1,100 square meters. The residence consists of three courtyards—southern, central, and northern—with around 50 rooms in total. Except for the rear garden, which has been converted into private housing, and the southern courtyard buildings along with the central courtyard’s main gate, which have been destroyed, the rest of the structures are largely well-preserved. The central courtyard has a hanging-hip roof tiger-seat gate, with ridge ornaments of Buddhist emblems on the gate lintel. To its left, there is a separate two-courtyard entrance gate, and to the left of that gate stands a screen wall. The courtyard is 16.5 meters long and 14.35 meters wide. The northern building is a two-story wooden house with a hanging-hip roof; its eave columns are 4.83 meters tall and are decorated with floral, bird, and cloud patterns.
