China National Convention Center

On August 8, 2008, the world-renowned Olympic Games were held in Beijing. The China National Convention Center, located in the central area of the Beijing Olympic Park and adjacent to the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube, also became the focus of the world. It served as the Main Press Center and the International Broadcasting Center, as well as the venue for the fencing events of the Olympics and the fencing and air pistol competitions of the modern pentathlon. After the Paralympic Games, the center underwent interior renovations and grandly reopened in November 2009.

The China National Convention Center was invested in and constructed by Beijing Beichen Group Co., Ltd. It covers a total area of 12 hectares, with a total construction area of 530,000 square meters and a total investment of 5 billion yuan. The building is 400 meters long from north to south, 150 meters wide from east to west, and has an eave height of 40 meters. The conference and exhibition area spans 270,000 square meters, while the supporting facilities cover a construction area of 260,000 square meters (including two hotels and two office buildings), making it the largest convention center in Asia at present.

The conference area of the China National Convention Center has over a hundred meeting rooms of various sizes, capable of accommodating more than 20,000 people for meetings simultaneously. The main auditorium can host conferences for up to 6,000 people at once; the kitchen facilities can provide meals for over 10,000 people simultaneously, with the grand ballroom able to hold banquets for 3,500 people at a time; the exhibition area covers 40,000 square meters.

The China National Convention Center Hotel has 420 guest rooms and is connected to the China National Convention Center by a skybridge, just a 3-minute walk away.
