The garden is home to a large number of locust trees, which are the city tree of Beijing and showcase the cultural characteristics of Beijing’s locust heritage. Strolling along the garden paths, visitors can observe over ten different types of locust trees, such as the red-flowered black locust, Chinese scholar tree, butterfly locust, golden-branch Chinese scholar tree, Jiangnan locust, and fragrant-flower locust. Jingcheng Locust Garden integrates regional folk culture and serves as a suburban park that combines leisure, folk activities, and sightseeing.
The south gate of the park is located on the north side of the Airport Expressway Second Ring and features the name “Jingcheng Locust Garden” inscribed by the renowned calligrapher Ouyang Zhongshi.
