Yangquan Harmony Ecological Park

Yangquan Harmony Ecological Park was established in March 2003. It is a leisure and sightseeing agricultural park integrating dining, accommodation, transportation, tourism, and entertainment. The project was invested in and built by Mr. Shi Zhong, an outstanding entrepreneur from Yangquan, in response to the Party’s “Grain for Green” policy, on the barren hills of East Mountain in Baijiazhuang Village, Yangjiazhuang Township, suburban Yangquan. The entire park presents a magnificent scene of “gardens within the park, courtyards within gardens, with pavilions and towers complementing each other,” allowing visitors to experience the harmony between humans and nature while sightseeing and enjoying leisure activities. A variety of cultural landscapes have been constructed, including Bowei Courtyard, Heroes’ Mountain, Sage Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Yueming Courtyard, Guiling Valley, Laojun Workshop, and Harmony Gate. Among them, Bowei Courtyard is themed around commemorating Ms. Shi Pingmei, featuring the Pingmei Pavilion, her handwritten works, and ancient and modern poetry and essays. Heroes’ Mountain focuses on red revolutionary education, including the Heroes’ Gate, Dawn Cave, Memorial Pavilion for International Friends, Commemoration Pavilion, Pavilions for the Ten Marshals and Ten Generals, National Spirit Commemoration Pavilion, Mao Zedong Handwriting Pavilion, Statue Commemoration Pavilion, Deng Xiaoping Life Exhibition Commemoration Pavilion, fiberglass statues of Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching-ling, and stone tablets. The Sage Calligraphy and Painting Academy emphasizes education in traditional culture and moral knowledge, including the Sage Hall and exhibition rooms for the Four Great Classical Novels. Yueming Courtyard is built along the mountain contours, revealing the mountain and water features, with courtyards within the garden, rich content, and a strong cultural atmosphere. It also serves as a cultural leisure and entertainment center integrating dining, drinking, accommodation, and amusement. During holidays, the park attracts a large number of nearby visitors.
