Beijing Guanfu Museum

• A worthwhile private museum that hosts various exhibitions year-round.

Attraction introduction

The Guanfu Museum is the first private museum in New China, founded by Mr. Ma Weidu. Compared to public museums, it sees fewer visitors and is smaller in size, allowing you more leisure to carefully appreciate each exhibit.

The Guanfu Museum has five exhibition halls: Ceramics, Furniture, Crafts, Doors & Windows, and Oil Paintings. Among them, the Ceramics Hall and Furniture Hall are especially worth visiting.

Mr. Ma’s collection includes many treasured heirlooms. You can view over a hundred exquisite Ming and Qing dynasty furniture pieces, representative porcelain from the Tang, Song, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, as well as important works by contemporary Chinese oil painters and sculptors. The museum hosts various exhibitions throughout the year, making it a great place to visit if you’re interested in the collections.
