Meili Snow Mountain - Yubeng Sacred Waterfall

-- The Yubeng Sacred Waterfall is a waterfall formed by the meltwater of Meili Snow Mountain. Tibetans consider bathing under the sacred waterfall a way to purify the soul. Visitors can follow Tibetan tradition by walking clockwise around the waterfall three times to pray for blessings.

-- The view of the sacred waterfall varies by season. Normally, it's just countless threads of water falling from the mountain like prayer scarves, but during the rainy season the waterfall becomes more spectacular. In spring and summer, melting snow and ice increase the waterfall’s flow.

-- Along the path to the sacred waterfall, there are many mani stone piles built by Tibetan pilgrims. Visitors passing by can also add a stone or two, which is considered a way to accumulate merit.

Transportation

The waterfall is located in Xiayubeng Village and can only be reached on foot or by mule from Yubeng Village. Estimated mule riding price: around 200 RMB round trip, about 150 RMB one way.

Ticket

Included in the 80 RMB Yubeng Village ticket; or within the 230 RMB Meili Snow Mountain combo ticket (includes 60 RMB Jinsha River Bend, 60 RMB Wunongding Viewpoint, 60 RMB Feilai Temple Viewpoint, and 80 RMB Yubeng), with an additional 5 RMB management fee to enter Yubeng.
