June 24, 2015, at3:00 p.m.,the press conference for the 2015 summer activities of the Lingfeng Society at Beihang University and the departure ceremony for the Mountaineering Team and the Scientific Expedition Team were grandlyheld at the Chenxing Theater inZhixing Building ofBeihang University.The President of the Lingfeng Society, Zhang Yue,Council MemberChen Hongshun,、Captain Qi Lele of the 2015 Mountaineering Team,、Captain Liu Yuting of the Scientific Expedition Team,as well as some members of the mountaineering and scientific expedition teams,attendedthispress conference. At the same time,somerepresentatives from sponsoring companies,、media representatives, and representatives from fellow societies were also invited to attend the conference.
The 2015 KailasMountaineering Team of Beihang Lingfeng Society was established in March this year. After three months of physical training, technical instruction, and multiple rounds of selection, about 15 team members are expected to set off forSichuan’s8Garze Prefecture inGanzi climbing at an altitude ofto climb Mount Qiaogeri, which stands at an altitude of6,168 meters,lasts approximately20 days.This year, the mountaineering team will carry out this summer climbing activity around the theme of “Reaching the Summit of Que'er Mountain, Honoring the Spirits of the Snowy Peaks”Mountainheroes, and the activity has been approved and supported by the China Mountaineering Association, the Sichuan Mountaineering Association, and the Beihang University administration.The 2015 scientific expedition team and mountaineering team were established simultaneously, with a total of 18 members. This year, the theme of the scientific expedition team is “Traveling through the Colorful Clouds of the South, Exploring the Changes in Yubeng”in July, the team members will head to Yubeng Village in Deqen County, Yunnan Province,to explore the impact of tourism on this once-idyllic mountain village.
At the press conference, the two teams first used exciting videos to review the preparation work of the past three months, showcasing their respective styles and creating a positive atmosphere at the venue. Next,, Zhang Yue, the president, delivered a speech, expressing full support, heartfelt expectations, and best wishes for the two teams this year. Qi Lele, the captain of the mountaineering team, and Liu Yuting, the captain of the scientific expedition team, gavewonderful and detailedreports on the team building, personnel selection, and planning and early preparations for the summer activities over the past three months.The mountaineering teamandthe scientific expedition team conveyed their confidence in successfully completing the summer social practice activities with great enthusiasm and thorough preparation. After that,Liu, the manager fromLupointCo., Ltd., as a representative of the sponsor, took the stage to speak, briefly introducing the company’s collaboration with the club, and extended sincere blessings for the mountaineering team’s successful summit.
