Mohan
The Mohan Border Trade Zone is located at the southernmost tip of Yunnan Province, at the junction between Yunnan and the Indochina Peninsula. It borders the Boten Port of Laos and is over 190 kilometers from Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna Prefecture (via the Kunming–Bangkok Highway), and more than 700 kilometers from Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Via the Kunming–Bangkok Highway, it is 228.3 kilometers to the Thai national border checkpoint of Chiang Khong in Laos, and about 1,000 kilometers to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The Mohan Border Trade Zone is China’s only national-level land port to Laos and the most convenient overland route to Southeast Asia. It is also one of the main corridors for Greater Mekong Subregion cooperation and the optimal link in building the China–ASEAN Free Trade Area.
