The Hongguan Sunping Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Hongguan Miao Ethnic Township Sunping Azalea Scenic Area is located in Xiaobachang Village, Hongguan Miao Ethnic Township, at an altitude of over 1,500 meters, and is known as the "place closest to the sun." It takes about one hour to hike from Xiaobachang Village to Sunping, or 20 minutes by car. The area covers roughly 10,000 mu, with a core section of about 300 mu, primarily consisting of wild alpine small-leaf rhododendrons. The peak flowering period runs from April 20 to June 5.

Sunping is distributed across the highest ridgeline areas of Hongguan Township, at altitudes above 1,400 meters, with grasslands spanning tens of thousands of mu.

From the mountaintop, the view is expansive, offering vistas of the hills and ranges of three counties. The surrounding clusters of peaks stand like pyramids in formation, creating a solemn atmosphere. They resemble a field of mushrooms sprouting or bamboo shoots breaking through the earth, or even lions and elephants lying peacefully on the plateau.

This untouched and unmodified pristine grassland is wildly natural, with continuous peaks and vast stretches of forest and grass.

Hongguan Miao Ethnic Township: Located in the western part of Zunyi County, it covers an area of 64 square kilometers and has a population of 8,900, of which 8.4% are ethnic Miao. It administers seven village committees. Established in 1953 as two separate townships—Hongguan and Heyan—it was merged into the Pan Shui Commune in 1958. In 1962, it was split back into the Hongguan and Heyan communes, and became townships again in 1984. The two townships were combined into the Hongguan Miao Ethnic Township in February 1992. The township lies between Lüzhu Mountain and Hongguan Liangzi, featuring abundant forests. There are eight primary and secondary schools. The township government is located in Hongguanba, 45 kilometers west of Nanbai Town, at the northern foot of Hongguan Liangzi.
