The Dumu River Scenic Area is located 18 kilometers from the county town in Xinba Town. It boasts beautiful scenery and pleasant landscapes, with steep and rugged peaks on both sides of the river, renowned for its dramatic topography throughout Guiding. The road winds and twists along the mountainside, crossing the Dumu River at various angles. The construction of the Dahuashui Hydropower Station and the subsequent submersion of the reservoir area have raised the water level of the Dumu River, resulting in a smooth riverbed...

The Dumu River basin is home to ethnic groups such as the Miao and Buyi, featuring picturesque landscapes and rich ethnic and folk customs. The stunning "Little Three Gorges" scenery and the cultural charm along the riverbanks offer unique advantages, making it an ideal location for developing new premium tourist attractions or launching a new "water-based green tourism route" in the province. Towering peaks, lush green hills, and uniquely shaped mountains create a diverse range of natural landscapes along both sides of the valley, forming a high-quality symphony of rugged mountains, beautiful waters, forests, rocks, caves, waterfalls, springs, ancient trees, stone murals, and abundant flora and fauna—making it a perfect destination for water sightseeing, leisure vacations, and eco-tourism. To the north of the scenic valley lies Xinba Town, a historic site along the Red Army’s Long March. The town has a long history of growing purple garlic and deep cultural roots, earning reputations such as “Revolutionary Old District,” “Hometown of Culture,” and “Hometown of Purple Garlic.” During the Long March, the Red Army passed through Xinba twice, leaving behind many valuable propaganda slogans, artifacts, and beautiful legends along the way.
