Attractions

Near the snow-capped peak of Baihaizi Mountain lies a glacial lake called Baihaizi: serene and tranquil, it rests beneath the towering snow mountains and is surrounded by azaleas.“Warm year-round like a piece of jade,”is the perfect description of Baihaizi.

At an altitude of3500meters on the plateau, closer to the sky, the misty Baihaizi is peaceful, delicate, and tranquil. Like a peerless beauty lying on the snowy mountain, stretched out beneath the blue sky and white clouds, draped in a graceful veil, waiting for us to discover her hidden beneath the fabric.

Baihaizi

Baihaiziis located in the Wuse Mountain range at the northeast corner of the Gongga Mountain System. Surrounded by peaks, the surface of the lake sits at an elevation of4150meters and covers an area roughly equivalent to4football fields. From a distance, the lake appears milky white, hence its name "Baihaizi" or White Lake. Up close, the water is clear and sweet to the taste.

Formation of Baihaizi: The slow movement of glaciers grinds rocks into extremely fine powder, which is carried out by glacial meltwater to form glacial slurry. This flows into the lake and settles at the bottom several meters deep. Under specific lighting and angles, the lake water appears milky white.
