Shiban Village Anti-Japanese War Site

Shiban Village Anti-Japanese War Site is located in Shiban Village, Jiuxian Town, in the southern part of the autonomous county, approximately 69 kilometers from the county seat. During the Republican era, the local Sui ethnic villagers built a stone wall about 2 meters high and over 1 meter thick around the village to protect their settlement. They also used dozens of tall, upright trees in the vicinity along with wooden beams and logs, interlacing them horizontally to form a defensive structure. This was combined with dense bamboo groves and thick thorny thickets to create a fortress that was part man-made and part natural. The village had four gates—front, back, left, and right—for entry and exit.
