The “Flowers and Fish” digital installation artwork, jointly created by the Shin-Enoshima Aquarium in Kanagawa Prefecture and Japan’s TeamLab, combines the aquarium’s fish with dazzling light and shadow technology, transporting visitors to a dreamlike fantasy world. The exhibit will be on display in the aquarium from now until December 25.

The “Flowers and Fish” installation projects colorful leaves and petals onto schools of fish swimming in tanks. As the fish swim by, random bursts of blooming flowers appear. When the radiant projected flowers touch the fish, they scatter into beautiful petals that slowly fade away before visitors’ eyes. Each scene is uniquely generated based on the random movements of the fish in the tank, ensuring a one-of-a-kind visual experience every time. In addition to this, the aquarium also features other installations such as the “Interactive Sphere,” which changes color in response to human presence, and the “Graffiti Aquarium,” where visitors can project sea creatures they’ve drawn onto the tank—fun and interactive activities not to be missed.
