Located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Sunshine Aquarium is designed as an oasis in the sky. Visitors can observe the ecology of various marine creatures here, and it also offers entertainment and leisure features. It is Japan's first aquarium built on a rooftop. The aquarium recently unveiled a new exhibition space, which opened on July 12. It features five new types of themed exhibits, creating a unique animal-watching experience that is more open and interactive than before.

The five new themed exhibits include Sky Penguins, Prairie Penguins, Otters by the Water, Sky Corridor, and Shimmering Spring. Among them, the most eye-catching are the Sky Penguins and Prairie Penguins—world-first exhibition spaces. In the Sky Penguins exhibit, set in an L-shaped large aquarium tank, black-footed penguins appear to be soaring through the city sky. There is also a daily underwater feeding show.
