Built on the foundation of the Guanyin Pavilion from the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty and established in the early years of the Republic of China, Shuixi Park is a cultural heritage site from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It is situated at the western foot of Lion Mountain in the eastern suburbs of Qianxi County, spanning an area of 60,000 square meters. The park features beautiful mountains and clear waters, ancient and sturdy trees, pavilions and towers, winding paths with secluded charm, and a refreshing atmosphere. Its long history has left behind numerous relics and cultural artifacts from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties within the park, including the “Martyred Heroine’s Tomb” of Shejie, a heroic Yi woman from the Yuan Dynasty, the Guanyin Pavilion, the Broken Bell Pavilion, the Guanwen Pagoda, the Imperial Inscribed Archway of the Qianlong Emperor for the Minister, the Poetry Stele of Wu Songliang, the Guanyin Pavilion Stele Inscription, and the Poetry Stele of Dongshan Temple.
