Huangguoshu National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

The planned area of Huangguoshu National Wetland Park spans 553.8 hectares, extending north from Wengzhai Village, then southward passing the southwest side of Shitouzhai, Doupotang Waterfall, Huangguoshu Grand Waterfall, Huashichao, and arriving at Sanchaqiao. At Sanchaqiao, it branches off in two directions: eastward along the Wang’er River to the east side of Sanchawan Village, and southward along the Sancha River, passing through Tianxingqiao, Hongyan, Langgong, and reaching the confluence with the Dabang River system to the south of Langgong.

According to the planning, Huangguoshu Urban Wetland Park proposes the vision of “Three Bays, One River, and Varied Fields, with Egrets Soaring Along Ten Miles of Streams,” positioning the park as a national urban wetland park characterized by karst wetland landscapes, showcasing diverse water features of the Waterfall Town, gradient scenery of the river valley, Bouyei culture, and pastoral vistas.

This area will seek a development balance between the park and the scenic zone by establishing a comprehensive “grand landscape” system from the wetland park to the scenic area. It will expand outward centered on the water system, progressively coordinating the relationships between conservation and development, ecology and tourism, life, and humans and wildlife, achieving “shared benefits and shared prosperity.”

Upon completion, the park will be structured around three water systems—the Baishui River, Wang’er River, and Sancha River—referred to as the “Three Bays”; combined with the park’s functional zoning, the wetland park will be divided into nine major themed scenic areas, known as the “Nine Scenes,” and categorized into four types: ecological core zone, ecological buffer zone, wetland sightseeing zone, and management service zone.
