Introduction: The Wild Goose Pagoda is located on a plateau 2 kilometers south of Huoxian County, Shanxi Province. It earned its name due to the many wild goose nests built on it. The temple, named after the pagoda, was called the Wild Goose Pagoda Temple, though only ruins remain. The construction date of the pagoda is unknown, but it was renovated in the 42nd year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1563). The pagoda stands 16 meters tall, has an octagonal shape, five tiers, and features a dense-eave style with a hollow interior. Each tier of the pagoda’s body tapers inward, with 88 exquisitely carved brick brackets under the eaves. The proportions are harmonious, the carvings are delicate, the structure is tall and elegant, and the design is graceful. Climbing up to the plateau and looking up at the ancient pagoda while enjoying the distant mountain and river scenery is a truly delightful experience.
