Longhe Plank Walkway

The Longhe Plank Walkway is located near the Hundred-Zhang Waterfall scenic area. Constructed from wooden stakes and stone slabs, the walkway stretches approximately 4,500 meters in length and sits at an altitude of 2,000 to 2,600 meters. It winds its way up the cliffs amid the mist of the waterfall. Legend has it that the walkway was built by ancient soldiers guarding the frontier. Suspended precariously along the cliff face, it undulates over rugged rocks, climbs tortuously along steep cliffs, and occasionally crosses rushing streams back and forth. At its widest, the walkway spans no more than two feet, with sheer cliffs on one side and a bottomless abyss on the other. Precarious and stretching far, the walkway is both extraordinary and thrilling. When clouds and mist rise, standing on the walkway gives you the sensation that “clouds rise from beneath your feet and you are walking in the sky,” evoking a feeling of floating as if immortal. On the steep cliffs and gentle slopes, vibrant flower waterfalls tumble down. Nurtured by long-standing mists and rains, they shine with exceptional brilliance. Look: vines, pine needles, wildflowers—jostling shoulder to shoulder, leaning on one another, bustling together... They cascade, sway, and call out, exuding a captivating charm, as if striving to burst through the mountain pass and surge toward the plains, fields, and towns, cleansing the world with their fragrant aura and dewy floral moisture.
