Jiufeng Mountain Yuwu Peak

Jiufeng Mountain gets its name from the nine towering peaks within its territory and was anciently known as Yulei Mountain. As the source of the Jian River originates here, it is also called Jian Mountain, making it one of the earliest famous mountains in Sichuan documented in the "Book of Han." The mountain features overlapping ridges that stand like walls across the horizon. The scenic area spans approximately 180 square kilometers and is composed of Flame Peak, White Tiger Peak, Backlight Peak, Yuwu Peak, Immortal Peak, Vermilion Bird Peak, Longevity Peak, Tianya Peak, and Dragon Peak. The mountain is home to temples such as Leizu Temple, Qingliang Temple, Haihui Hall, and Ancestral Master Hall, while the mountaintop houses the Thunder Sound Temple, which was first built during the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty. On clear days, visitors can enjoy the sunrise, sea of clouds, and Buddha’s halo, while on overcast days, the spectacular “waterfall cloud” phenomenon can be observed.
