Leizu Temple

Leizu Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Jiufeng Mountain got its name from the nine towering peaks within the area, and was known as Yulei Mountain in ancient times. Since the source of the Jian River originates here, it is also called Jian Mountain, making it one of the earliest famous mountains in Sichuan recorded in the “Book of Han.” Jiufeng Mountain features undulating ridges that stretch across the horizon like walls. The scenic area spans approximately 180 square kilometers and is composed of Huoyan Peak, Baihu Peak, Beiguang Peak, Yuwu Peak, Xianren Peak, Zhuque Peak, Changnian Peak, Tianya Peak, and Long Peak. The mountain area is home to temples such as Leizu Temple, Qingliang Temple, Haihui Hall, and Ancestral Master Hall, while the mountaintops feature the Leiyin Temple, which was first built during the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty. On clear days, visitors can enjoy views of the sunrise, sea of clouds, and Buddha’s halo, while on overcast days, the spectacular “waterfall cloud” phenomenon can be observed.

Transportation

Take a direct tourist bus to Danjing Mountain or Yinchanggou from Chengdu North Railway Station, with several departures in the morning and afternoon. In addition, there are multiple buses available from Chengdu West Gate Bus Station and the New South Gate Tourist Passenger Transport Center.
