Located in Baita Village, Danjing Mountain Town, Pengzhou City, it was built between the first year of the Zhihe era and the fifth year of the Jiayou era during the Northern Song Dynasty (1054–1060). Originally named Fuchang Chan Monastery, the temple was also called Fuchang Temple, hence the pagoda is known as Fuchang Temple Pagoda. The pagoda stands 28.34 meters tall and is a 13-tiered, square brick structure with closely spaced eaves. The square base of the pagoda measures 10 meters on each side. The entire pagoda is tall and slender, with its outer eaves constructed using stacked bricks across 13 tiers, some of which are now partially damaged. Inside, the pagoda is divided into five levels of chambers, with spiral stairways leading to the top. The finely crafted bricks bear stamped inscriptions such as “Song Ji,” “Yang Ji,” “Jing Ji,” and “Yi Ji.” The rectangular and square bricks used in the construction are tightly jointed and bonded with a mortar made of yellow clay, white lime, and sand, reinforced internally with flat iron bars, which enhanced the pagoda’s seismic resistance—this is why the structure remains relatively well-preserved to this day. Originally standing beside the pagoda was a stele titled “Record of the Reconstruction of ZhenGuo Temple Pagoda in Pengzhou,” carved in the fifth year of the Jiayou era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1060). The inscription documented that the construction of the pagoda took seven years, as well as details regarding the labor costs. The stele has since been relocated, cut into three sections, with a remaining length of 2.26 meters, thickness of 0.24 meters, and width of approximately 1.10 meters. Both the front and back of the stele are inscribed in Yan-style regular script. In 1980, it was designated as a Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province.

The village (community) covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers, with 520.36 mu of arable land and 1,182.84 mu of land returned to forest. There are 12 agricultural production cooperatives and 2 centralized residential areas, with a total of 440 farming households, including 40 low-income households and 30 disadvantaged households, comprising a population of 1,178 and 39 Party members. During the 5·12 Wenchuan Earthquake, 383 households in Baita Village were affected, of which 16 were rebuilt on the original sites and 1 was relocated elsewhere...
