Liu Wenhui’s Former Residence

Liu Wenhui’s Former Residence is located within the New Mansion of the Liu Family Estate and has now been converted into the Western Sichuan Folk Customs Exhibition Hall. It is divided into three sections: the Marriage Customs Hall, the Production and Daily Life Hall, and the Folk Crafts and Culture Hall, displaying a collection of items that showcase the folk culture and customs of western Sichuan.

Anren Town: Anren Town has a long history. As early as the third year of the Wude era of the Tang Dynasty (620 AD), the Anren County was established (50 years before Dayi County), under the jurisdiction of Qiongzhou in the Jiannan Circuit. According to the "Taiping Huanyu Ji," it was named after the meaning of "the benevolent find peace," and its county seat was located where Anren Town stands today. Because it was historically the seat of “Anren” County, it thus got its name. It wasn’t until the 21st year of the Yuan Dynasty (1284 AD) that the Anren County was abolished and its area was incorporated into Dayi County. Before liberation, Anren was known for having “three armies, nine regiments, and eighteen battalions,” and produced notable military and political figures such as Liu Wenhui and Liu Xiang.
