Taian Ancient Town is the first attraction in the rear section of Mount Qingcheng, centered around the ancient and tranquil Taian Temple. The classic-style commercial street is bustling, with a full range of restaurants, bars, shops, and inns.

The town has a long history and has been an important stop along the ancient post road since ancient times. It was damaged in the Wenchuan earthquake but was rebuilt and reopened in 2012.
