On the evening of September 16, the 2nd Dujiangyan · New Discoveries City Orienteering Race, jointly organized by the People's Government of Dujiangyan City, planned and executed by the Communist Youth League Dujiangyan Municipal Committee and the Dujiangyan Municipal Sports Bureau, and fully coordinated by Chengdu TuoYou Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., officially concluded under the beautiful night sky of Dujiangyan. Nearly 3,000 participants weaved through the streets and alleys of Dujiangyan and its many scenic spots and towns, bringing tremendous energy to the entire city.
A total of 40 orienteering routes were designed for this race. They covered two AAAAA-level scenic spots in Dujiangyan, 10 historic buildings, 14 rural tourism destinations, 50 landmark structures, and 100 attractions.
All attractions were open to participants free of charge. The competition required each team of five members to combine physical ability with mental agility and teamwork to complete eight mandatory tasks and two bonus tasks from their mission sheet in the shortest time possible. One particularly challenging bonus task was the 10-kilometer Red Bull cross-country run, which featured rugged mountain terrain with elevations ranging from a minimum of 675 meters to a maximum of 1084 meters. The high difficulty level and demand for strong teamwork made for moving scenes as teams supported each other to cross the finish line. We couldn’t help but cheer—amazing job, everyone !
“Worship the water of Dujiangyan, seek the Tao at Qingcheng Mountain.” We look forward to gathering here again next year in this “Famous Historical and Cultural City of China” and “Outstanding Tourist City of China,” known for its landscapes for thousands of years.
