After an intense final evaluation by the judges, the 10 nominees for the 2016 National Geographic Adventurers of the Year (China) have finally been announced. This marks the first time National Geographic has selected 10 annual nominee adventurers from China.
Wang Aolin: From April 22 to May 2, 2016, Wang Aolin completed four dives. He broke his own national record three times in a row, ultimately achieving a remarkable depth of 92 meters in the Constant Weight with Fins category. With this feat, Chinese freedivers have joined the ranks of the world’s best, and the Chinese flag flew over Dean’s Blue Hole in the Bahamas. This moment has written a bold chapter in the history of freediving.
