Majiayao Mound is situated in Group 8, Fengqi Village, Yutang Town, Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, within a hilly and low-mountainous area, covering a distribution area of 5,008.93 square meters. It was a celadon kiln site dating back to the Tang and Song Dynasties. The kiln structure is sloped and consists of a firebox, front and rear kiln chambers, partition walls, and flues. The lower layers mainly used spur supports, while the upper layers primarily used ring pads. The surrounding area of the mound is scattered with discarded celadon shards and kiln tools, along with numerous abandoned kilns. These abandoned kilns protrude from the ground and are well-preserved. The firing method mainly involved stacking with sand grains and supports, and the interiors of the vessels often feature coarse sand marks but very few spur marks. Small-footed bowls unearthed from this period exhibit typical Song Dynasty styles. The main types of artifacts are ceramics and kiln tools. Ceramics include bowls, alms bowls, ewers, basins, and yí (a type of vessel), with bowls being the most common. Glaze colors include ginger yellow, green, light green, soy sauce glaze, as well as green and light green opaque glazes, among which green opaque glaze is the most frequently seen. Most of the ceramic shards have ring feet, with a small number having flat feet, and one fragment of a jade-ring foot base was also collected. Kiln tools include support plates, support tubes, support rings, spurs, support strips, and clay discs, with support tubes and spurs being the most common. The Yutang Kiln Site is of significant importance for studying the commodity circulation and cultural exchange between the Chengdu Plain and the northwestern Sichuan Plateau, as well as the interactions between the Han ethnic group and the Tibetan-Qiang peoples in Sichuan. It is also considered one of the birthplaces of underglaze color firing and holds high historical and scientific value.

Fengqi Community: Fengqi Village is located between the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Dujiangyan and Qingcheng Mountain. It serves as a gateway to the Aba Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous Prefecture and an important node on the golden tourism routes to Qingcheng Mountain, Huanglong, Jiuzhaigou, and Mount Siguniang. The village lies along the western Sichuan tourism loop and near Bao Ping Avenue. Within the village, Wolniu Mountain connects to “God of Wealth” Mount Zhao Gong. To the north, it borders Baima Village, about 1 kilometer from Panda Valley; to the south, it extends to Zhongxing Town; to the east, it neighbors Xinsheng Village and is adjacent to the CITIC Golf Sports Park, approximately 6 kilometers from the city center—boasting a highly advantageous geographical location. Tests have shown that Group 8 of Fengqi Village has a high concentration of negative oxygen ions, making it suitable for elderly residents... More details about Fengqi Community ++
