Introduction to Ya'an Mengshan The Mengshan Scenic Area is one of the first batch of provincial-level scenic spots in Sichuan. Located within Mingshan County and 7.5 kilometers from the county town, Mengding Peak stands at an elevation of 1,456 meters. It boasts a long history, noted in historical records as the site where Yu the Great tamed the floods during the Xia Dynasty; it is also widely renowned for the tribute tea produced on Mengding Mountain.

It features a warm temperate monsoon climate typical of Southeast Asia, with an average annual temperature of 13.2 degrees Celsius and annual rainfall reaching 1,158.1 mm. The area enjoys distinct seasons, abundant sunshine, and a mild climate. With a forest coverage rate of 90% and 2.2 million negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter of air, it is hailed as a “natural oxygen bar,” making it an ideal destination for fitness, recuperation, and health preservation. It combines the strengths of many famous mountains—majestic, spectacular, steep, elegant, serene, and mysterious—with towering cliffs, seas of blooming flowers, cascading waterfalls, misty clouds and rosy clouds, forming five major scenic wonders: the Ancient Path of Mengshan, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the Majestic Three Passes, Waterfall Curtain in Azure Pools, and the Three Pools of Longmen. Visitors find themselves enchanted and reluctant to leave.
