Yazhou Covered Bridge

Yazhou Covered Bridge, also known as Ya'an Covered Bridge, derives its name from the ancient designation "Yazhou" for Ya'an, where it is located. It is currently the longest and largest covered bridge in China and serves as a landmark structure of Ya'an.

Yazhou Covered Bridge is located at the center of Ya'an’s old urban cluster and spans both sides of the Qingyi River, forming an important node in the city’s scenery. The bridge is 22 meters wide and 240 meters long, featuring an overall two-story structure with partial three-story sections of traditional Chinese architectural design. Once completed, the lower level will not only serve pedestrian traffic but also provide substantial commercial space. The second and third floors will house multifunctional commercial facilities such as restaurants, teahouses, exhibition spaces, display areas, and open-air observation decks.

The total usable floor area of Yazhou Covered Bridge is 9,028 square meters. It can be used for dining, teahouses, and other commercial operations, with complete infrastructure including water, electricity, and gas supply. The first floor is a commercial pedestrian street, offering 2,100 square meters of commercial space. The second floor provides 3,934.92 square meters of commercial space, while the third floor offers 1,231.5 square meters. Among these, the multi-functional hall covers 1,051.2 square meters (604.8 square meters on the second floor and 446.4 square meters on the third floor). Yazhou Covered Bridge will feature exhibition halls dedicated to urban development, hydropower, history and culture, and tourism, comprehensively showcasing the local customs and heritage of Ya'an.
