Ya'an Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism attraction.

Ya'an Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1955 by the former People's Committee of Xikang Province to honor the martyrs who gave their lives in the revolutionary struggles of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and people of all ethnic groups in Xikang. In 1995, it was recognized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as one of the first "Patriotic Education Bases." In 1999, it was rated as a "Ya'an Garden-Style Unit" by the Ya'an Municipal People's Government. In 2004, it was named a "Provincial Defense Education Base" by the Provincial People's Government and the Provincial Defense Education Committee. In 2009, it was designated as a "National Key Martyrs' Memorial Building Protection Unit" by the State Council and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It has become an important site for the public to mourn revolutionary martyrs and engage in patriotic and defense education. The cemetery receives nearly 150,000 visitors annually for commemorative purposes and around 800 local citizens daily for leisure.

Located at the foot of Cangping Mountain on No. 163 Renmin Road, Ya'an Martyrs' Cemetery covers an area of 27,360.16 square meters. The site features ancient banyans, lush nanmu trees, fragrant osmanthus, and sturdy tower pines, along with well-arranged pavilions, winding bridges, and tranquil ponds. It is divided into a memorial area and a leisure area. The memorial area, solemn and respectful, consists of the burial section, memorial hall, exhibition hall, memorial monument, memorial square, comprehensive exhibition area, and pathways. The leisure area, peaceful and serene, includes a lotus pond and a leisure square. The burial section spans 2,600 square meters, where the loyal spirits of 342 revolutionary martyrs rest behind a majestic yellow arched gate. The memorial hall is a two-story building combining Chinese and Western architectural styles. The outer wall of the main hall is inscribed with "Monument to the People's Revolutionary Martyrs," briefly describing the historical context of the liberation of Xikang, the routes of liberation and bandit suppression, and the story of the "Seven Martyrs of Gangjiashan." The inner walls bear the names of 661 martyrs. The exhibition hall displays over 700 precious historical materials, including photos and artifacts, documenting the revolutionary martyrs' battles and immortal contributions. The memorial monument is inscribed with "Monument to the People's Revolution" on all four sides, while its base, inscribed by the former People's Committee of Xikang Province, introduces the subjects of commemoration, the significance of the construction, and its inspiration for future generations. The memorial square includes the memorial hall square, the memorial monument square, the burial section square, and the sculpture square, serving as sites for visitors to pay their respects. The comprehensive exhibition area recreates the revolutionary struggles and development history of the former Xikang Province and post-liberation Ya'an through sound, light, electricity, objects, images, and videos. The lotus pond and leisure square provide an important space for Ya'an residents to enjoy blooming flowers, green trees, the sounds of insects and birds, and a peaceful atmosphere.
