Muxi Taoyuan Mountain Retreat, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, is located in Sanxi Village, Muxi Town, facing the urban area across the river (Muxi River). It is recognized as an environmentally beautiful model village in Sichuan Province. The village features gentle terrain, lush forests, murmuring springs, and clear streams. It brings together the essence of regional cultural characteristics, preserves rural charm, showcases pastoral scenery, emphasizes the rustic appeal, and highlights the beauty of culture, ecology, architecture, interaction, and heritage.

The scenic area develops rural tourism, maintains rural characteristics, showcases pastoral scenery, emphasizes rustic charm, and highlights "pristine ecology" while presenting the "flavor of the countryside." It carefully depicts a "mountain retreat painting" where new villages and industries, as well as urban and rural areas, blend seamlessly.

Here, you can rest, enjoy fresh tea, sample snacks, savor fine wine, release river lanterns, engage in farm work, dine on farmhouse meals, watch rural performances, celebrate local festivals, and experience traditional folk culture.

The large-scale live-action landscape drama "Wumeng Mu Song," based on the unique ecological environment and historical culture of Muxi County, leverages the natural landscape of the scenic area. It integrates local cultural elements such as ecology, history, folklore, and farming, and utilizes modern light and shadow technology to fully display the ecological charm, historical legacy, and folk customs of the bamboo village within the natural landscape.

Four Seasons Corridor

Within the scenic area, landscapes such as the "Harmony of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity" Solar Terms Square, the "Four Seasons" corridor, the Time Appreciation Garden, the Lotus Pond under Moonlight, and the "Prosperous Weather" Wind and Rain Plaza, all built around farming culture, are designed in harmony with the local environment. The coordination between cultural and natural landscapes makes them key windows reflecting the region’s natural and cultural characteristics.

Farming Culture Museum

Covering an area of approximately 1,000 square meters, the Farming Culture Museum within the scenic area has collected and organized over 1,000 farming-related artifacts. The exhibits reflect the traditional farming production and lifestyle of local villagers. Recognized jointly by the Provincial Propaganda Department and the Provincial Social Sciences Federation, it is the only remaining "Sichuan Philosophy and Social Sciences Popularization Base — Farming Culture Popularization Base" in southwestern Sichuan. It serves as an important platform for promoting and showcasing the farming culture of the region. Museum opening hours: 14:00–17:00 daily except Tuesdays.

Muxi Straw Dragon

Originating in the first year of the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty (627 AD), Muxi Straw Dragon culture is one of the representatives of Chinese dragon dance art and a "living fossil" of ancient Bashu culture. It has been honored as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and holds a Guinness World Record, among other accolades. It has participated in more than 30 major international and domestic events, becoming a culturally renowned emblem both at home and abroad.

The Muxi Straw Dragon is characterized by being "exquisite, ingenious, unique, and divine." The dragon head, body, and tail are ingeniously designed, with vividly lifelike dragon eyes, whiskers, and claws. Overall, it presents a rustic and primitive appearance with a strong local flavor and unique artistic charm. The ingenuity of the Muxi Straw Dragon also lies in its distinctive performance style: dozens of men dressed in straw skirts and wearing straw shoes, accompanied by the rhythmic beat of gongs and drums, make the straw dragon soar in a spectacular display.

The residential buildings in the scenic area adopt the stilt-style post-and-lintel wooden structure typical of southwestern Sichuan, combined with blue bricks, gray tiles, white walls, wooden windows, and wooden fences. Built in harmony with the local terrain, along the mountains and rivers, they are arranged in a scattered yet cohesive layout, forming a traditional dwelling architectural form of "home, courtyard, and village."
