Mianyang Nanshan Park is located atop Nanshan Hill at the confluence of the Fujiang, Anchang, and Furong streams in Mianyang City. It was first built in 1955, expanded in 1986, and covers a total area of 183,671 square meters (including 3,800 square meters of building space, 154,149.1 square meters of green space, 4,200 square meters of road area, and 9,200 square meters of water area). It is a comprehensive, open garden park integrating sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, and patriotic education, welcoming around 150,000 visitors from all walks of life each year.

The park boasts beautiful scenery and a rich variety of plant life. It stretches from west to east and is divided into scenic zones, including the Sanjiang Garden South Tower Area, Education Memorial Zone, and Amusement Area. Based on the functional areas and terrain, various ground covers, trees, shrubs, evergreen species, and decorative lawns are arranged to create well-arranged plant belts, ingeniously designed forest elements, and theme gardens with distinct styles that make the park both pleasing to the eye and refreshing. The park also features historical and cultural sites with unique natural and cultural characteristics.

The ancient Nine-Story Nansouth Pagoda, built during the Ming Dynasty, stands proudly overseeing the three rivers, embodying the spirit of the land and the weight of history. The classic Chinese-style antique architectural complex, with its traditional carvings and painted beams, offers an ideal place to admire the beauty of the three rivers, enjoy leisure activities, and relax. The crystal-clear “Dragon Spouting Water” feature attracts visitors to take a sip. The shimmering artificial lake provides fishing fun. The solemn Martyrs' Memorial Hall displays the heroic deeds of 44 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Mianyang during different revolutionary periods or were natives of Mianyang. The revolutionary cemetery, constructed from geometric marble blocks, serves as a place of remembrance and inspiration, encouraging future generations to strive forward. It is an important site for patriotic education and has been designated as such at the national, provincial, and municipal levels. Other attractions include the ruins of the study site of Guo Yu, a Han Dynasty imperial physician, and the Huangjue Tree Viewing Platform. Together, these make Nanshan Park both a sacred place to honor martyrs and reflect on history, and a lovely spot for tea by the pavilion, fishing by the lake, or quiet reading in the garden. The park uniquely combines time-honored attractions with captivating garden landscapes.
